Spare Any Change?

by Christopher D'Orta

Unkept promises: "I promise to work out for one hour per day," or "I will eat better," or "I will communicate better with my significant other," etc.... You do not live up to these promises because, plainly, you did not understand how human behavior patterns are created and changed. Take heart though, because there are only two principles you need to remember to produce positive permanent change:

  • Your mind creates your world
  • Your mind functions according to certain definable, and controllable processes, one of which I call "think link-or-sink."

When you work according to these principles, all the changes you desire become not just easy, but in fact, inevitable.

So, the first key to producing lasting positive change is to realize that your mind creates your world. Sure, working harder, studying more, reading self-help books, etc... will help, but, in reality, these are just tools to change. Further, realize that will-power, fortitude, and desire are merely the electricity to run the tools. The foundational mechanism behind all change, however, is THE MIND. Accordingly, to change your world you must change your mind.

Edgar Cayce was a great psychic who channeled voluminous useful knowledge about the human condition, and matters of the soul. Cayce said, profoundly so: "Spirit is the life, mind is the builder, physical is the result." Thusly stated, Cayce gave us a single phrase that encapsulates the wisdom of how to live our lives at their highest potential, and to further our soul growth in the best manner.

Ok, so, our minds create our reality through patterns. The source of all things in the universe is Spirit, and Spirit’s essence is perfect. Thus, when our mind’s patterns are harmonious with God’s (the perfect source), we manifest perfection. As Cayce stated, since the Spirit is the source of all, and Spirit is God, and God is perfect, all we need do is allow this perfection to flow unimpeded through our (creative) minds, and the result will be divine perfection. Its that easy!!

So how do we create a divine pattern in our mind that allows the perfect spiritual force to flow through correctly? Simple. The trick is to understand that we do not have to create anything. The perfect source is already in form. All we need do is realize that we are one with it, and allow it to become one with our consciousness, and it automatically forms our sub-conscious patterning. It is the realization of our true identity (a perfect child of God), and to realize that our source of all is divine perfection, that a matrix pattern of Divine perfection is formed in our true mind, and we project its perfect essence outward. The key element here is to ALLOW.

Indeed, the spiritual source MUST flow through and become one with your mind when you allow. That’s right, all you need do is allow and bliss is automatically manifested in your world: physical bliss, mental bliss, money bliss, etc.... To allow, start by letting go of the learned sub-conscious mis-programming you received from without: parents, siblings, school, media, etc.... But it also is critical to practice erase and replace by replacing the old junk with new more positive thinking. Otherwise, the old negative stuff comes roaring back with a vengeance.

Next, you must learn how the mind functions. The mind is separated into two mutually exclusive parts: the conscious mind; and, the sub-conscious mind. The conscious mind is great for remembering your laundry and grocery lists, but, as Cayce said, it is your sub-conscious mind that manifests your world. Your sub-conscious mind acts as a beacon from which certain vibratory signals are sent out. What resonates with those signals will be attracted to you. Good begets good, negative draws forth negativity. So, in order to produce positive change and allow perfectness, goodliness, and Godliness to flow naturally to you, you have to become a better "receptor" to it. In other words, first, you must accept and believe that success and abundance of good is normal. This belief sets up a positive pattern of thinking that attracts goodness and success.

Second, you must improve your self esteem so that you feel "worthy" of success. Truly, you allow as much success into your world as you are (sub-consciously) comfortable with having. You may consciously think you want good things to come to you, but if you have not healed within, your sub-consciousness may not be prepared for any success. See, if others made you believe you were less than perfect; shamed; worthless; etc...(i.e., negatively programmed you), then, when success does by chance happen upon you, your sub-consciousness will sabotage it in some way.

So, how do you develop more self-worth/esteem and reprogram your sub-consciousness? Simple, erase the negative thinking patterns that others have implanted in your sub-conscious mind by what I call "societal-induced thought-patterning." My friend, it is so crucial for you to realize and accept right now that you are a beautiful person. Truly, you are perfect! It was the TV, magazines, newspapers, and movies that made you think you had to live up to unrealistic and distorted images of reality. What’s more, our parents, families, and friends, though well intentioned, poured immeasurable amounts of pollution into our sub-consciousness. In other words, you were in one way or another told that you were less than perfect. This, however, is a falsehood, and is wrong thinking. And, because it is false, it is not real. What is false and unreal can be easily replaced with thinking that is true and real.
The truth is that you are a perfect child of this universe. You do not have to do or say, or become anything. You already are perfect. Yes, you can certainly improve upon the perfection; "Perfect the perfection," if you will. But, you are already quite beautiful, friend.

The second key to producing lasting positive change is to realize that the sub-conscious mind will never manifest anything that it connects to pain. It always seeks the path of least resistance, unless otherwise directed. This process I call "think link-or-sink" (another way of saying "think link-or-sink" is that your mind links up either pain or pleasure to all your actions. Once links are formed, your mind cajoles you sub-consciously to pursue the activities of pleasure rather than pain). Thus, you must form links in your sub-conscious mind of pleasure to producing a desired positive change, and pain to clinging to an old negative thinking or behavior.

So how do you link up pleasure to positive change? One way is by writing out the change(s) you desire. Want a new car, better relationship, better job? Write a list of 10 reasons why you desire it and what benefits and positive changes it will bring to you. Furthermore, you must also link up more pain to not changing than to changing. Do this by writing down 10 reasons why keeping the status quo would be negative for you. For example: does being heavy make you feel unattractive? Does staying at your current unemployment keep you from really following your dreams? (Indeed, are working for a living instead of designing a beautiful life? STOP doing that now!) Once these lists are done, read these lists every morning and night 10 times for 40 days. You will be amazed at the shift in consciousness this brings you.

Additionally, we should see change as a journey, not a destiny. The body and the mind always resist precipitous change. And, when you see change as all or nothing, you resist any change at all. Any positive change is good! 1% better is 1% better!! You are not a robot, an automaton, you are human. Thus, you should strive to do better, not flawless.

See, when you unrealistically try to change everything immediately, you set up inevitable "failure." How do you feel about yourself when you "fail?" Terrible of course. How do you behave when you feel terrible about yourself? Even worse, naturally. And the cycle devolves downward. Understand that this negativity begets more negativity because of associative conditioning. When you continually fail at achieving set goals, you set up a self-fulfilling pattern in your mind. You begin to link up pain to change because of constant failure. Also, because you think that will power and deprivation are the means to the magical end of success, you begin to associate positive change with pain.

Divergently, true permanent positive change is incremental. You can achieve smaller realistic goals. This ensures success. Success breeds positive feelings, and you when you feel better about yourself, you can then do more good. You then link up change to feeling good, and you no longer cringe when you think of setting new goals. Now the cycle evolves upward. Whoosh, you are vertical before long.

It simply is not difficult to produce positive change because anything positive in this universe is normal. Indeed, your life should be overflowing with successes and happiness. You can start to change your life RIGHT NOW THIS MOMENT! Right now step out of your illusions of pain and grasp what is rightfully yours: bliss and harmony. Re-programming is the answer. Please take a moment to really digest this, because it is life transforming stuff. That’s it...think... breathe.... Get it now? YES! Great!! Now enjoy, my dear friend.
